Elvington Airfield nr York has probably the most generous amount of “run-off” of any circuit in the UK. It’s unlikely you’ll even reach grass in the event of getting it wrong. We lay out a soft cone circuit giving a combination of safe high-speed technical corners, The straight is long enough to be interesting but not long enough to be boring. Whatever your requirements Elvington fits the bill. We normally operate a trackday circuit of approx 1.8 miles in length. Elvington is ideal for novices or car shakedowns etc. When designing circuit layouts at Elvington we are really given a blank canvas. The PAN area is massive at approx 1/2 mile square. This coupled with the intersecting taxiways and runway make a great circuit. We never publish a layout diagram for Elvington prefering to offer slight alterations every time to keep the many regulars amused. The noise limit for the venue is 98dba static measured at 3/4 maximun revs at 1/2 metre and 45 degrees from each exhaust. There ia a Drive By limit in place of 87 dba which appears quite low. However this is taken at 40 metres from the edge of the track. It should noted that the following cars or modifications may experience problems passing these limits - DeCat conversions, Cars fitted with "Motorcyle" silencers, Early Honda Civic Type Rs with anything other than when fitted a standard exhaust system. The nearby City of York is steeped in history making it ideal for a long weekend city break. Incorporating a trackday of course. The Yorvik Centre, National Railway Museum and Yorkshire Air Museum are just some of the local attractions.
