Overtaking

Overtaking is only permitted on the exit from corners or on straights (i.e. under acceleration). Only overtake on the side you are told at the safety briefing. Many circuits use the left and some use the right. Both cars must be travelling in a straight line before any overtaking manoeuvre is carried out.

The lead car has the right of way in any situation although should yield to a following car within a couple of corners. Tailgating will be viewed as unsafe driving.

If you are reported by a marshal for unsafe driving you will be shown a black flag signalling you must leave the track immediately and report to the control marshal. Penalty may vary from an educational lecture to a loss of track time.
